SUTTON, W.Va. – August 14, 2017 – West Virginia FILMmakers Festival is pleased to announce the Call for Nominations for the 2017 FILMmaker of the Year and the Impact Award.
The Impact Award is to honor the Individual whose most recent work or contributions – during the twelve calendar months between festivals – has had an utmost impact on the West Virginia film industry, or simply upon the culture of film and media creation within the state. The 2016 Impact Award winner was Justin Litton.
The FILMmaker of the Year award is to honor the individual whose lifetime or collective work has had either a lasting impact on the West Virginia film industry or simply upon the culture of film and media creation within the state. The 2016 FILMmaker of Year was Chip Meadows.
The call for nominations for both awards is now open. Please visit wvfilmmakersfestival.org/nominations to review criteria and to nominate a FILMmaker. Nominations will close September 14, 2017.
The 17th Annual West Virginia FILMmakers Festival will welcome FILMmakers to Sutton October 6 through October 8.
